ABOUT ME: My name is Theresa Johnson and I am a child abuse survivor with a purpose in life to help stop the pain by breaking the code of secrecy relating to all abuse. As a small child of 5 years old, my stepfather abused me with many different forms of abuse, including sexual. I had to keep our dirty little secret. The inner pain helped me believe that I wasn't worth or deserved anything, until I later released the inner pain in therapy. It was as if shackles were taken off my heart and mind. I was no longer bonded with secrecy.
I wanted and needed every abused victim to know it’s ok to tell and find the help they need to be able to become free from the pain deep inside that keeps them locked from feeling good and unable to show love or even trust; To let go of the hate, anger, low self-esteem and the feeling that it’s all their fault that it happened to them. I started writing stories so people could see themselves rather than being abused or as an abuser.
I knew what I wanted to say, “It’s ok to tell.” I also needed to put the message on something everyone could relate to and that’s how the Tear bear came about.
I BRING TO T2T: A chance to help me and help others get the protection and help for the abused and abusers. By breaking the code of secrecy relating to all abuse, T2T and Tear Bear can change the way the world looks at abuse and help save a child, friend, loved one or animal from the hands of an abuser.
